October’s Hands-on History Club

In Review:

Topographic map reading and lead them through the construction of their own “playdough mountain” maps.

October’s Hands-on History Club will chart playdough mountains on Saturday October 16th at 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. Map skills are as necessary today as they were for the early explorers. Interpreters will instruct students on the basics of topographic map reading and lead them through the construction of their own “playdough mountain” maps. The program is geared for 2nd-5th graders but is open to every age. Chaperones are required.
